Food Coma: Forbidden Rice

Food Coma : Forbidden Rice

Sushi
Sensei Sushi, Rancho Cordova CA

Black rice, or forbidden rice, is a rice grain that turns purple when cooked. Black rice is not only proclaimed as a ‘superfood’, but is also full of antioxidants and tons of other nutrients. I am a huge sushi addict with no immediate goals of recovery, therefore, I am always looking for ways to make more health conscious decisions when looking for spots to eat. I fell upon black rice by accident, but will never look back, as its distinct aesthetic contributes to its power flavor and unique experience.

The next time you head out for sushi, try looking for a spot with black rice. You’re welcome in advance.
